Very few of us feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of doing laundry, right? Would adding a few bright yellow tennis balls to the mix make the job more enticing? Probably not, but give these tips and tricks a try, and at the very least you will have a few insider techniques up your sleeve to talk about at your next dinner party.
• Is your washing machine eating your socks? Wash pairs together in mesh bags.
• Lemons do more than make lemonade! Citric acid in lemons helps break down stains and gets your dull whites back to bright — and unlike bleach, lemon juice is safe to use with colors. Add 1 cup along with your regular laundry detergent and be amazed!
• Skip the fabric softener and use Vinegar instead. Fabric softeners are oil based and can leave oil residue on your garments. Put 2 Tbsp. of vinegar in your wash machine’s fabric softener slot and voila! – no smell, less expense, and fresher clothing.
• Adding 2 Clean Tennis Balls to your dryer when drying down blankets or jackets keeps the feathers lofty and may reduce drying time.
